An unbroken opening stand of 151 in 26.1 overs saw Woodhouse Grange II overwhelm Bubwith by ten wickets in division four.

The visiting bowlers were totally devoid of success as Jonathon Bean (89no) and Mike Hattee (55no) made mincemeat of the Bubwith target of 147 all out in 40 overs.

Three Woodhouse bowlers had rewarding figures with Jack Chapman taking 4-42, Russ Bilton 3-21 and Rich Winterburn 3-47.

One of the most dramatic collapses on record saw Acomb literally snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Tom Langstaff hit 74 and Rob Harrison 45 in Easingwold’s 166-9 with Sam Dodds (4-42) and Suranga (4-27) starring.

Andy Ingle (30), Neil Hinde (46) and Ryan Diver, who also made 30, put Acomb into a seemingly comfortable winning position as they moved to 159-5.

However, the task of scoring a mere seven runs proved to be too difficult for the last five batsmen. Alan Robinson (4-43) had Acomb all out for 165 and a one-run defeat after the last five wickets fell for an astonishing six runs.
