York III moved up three places into third in division two when winning comfortably at Beverley Town II.

The home side’s 209-7 contained two half-centuries from Ben Fish (81) and Tim Smith (66).

Steve Beales took 4-66 for York and was then able to put his feet up as Kyle Waite made a fine unbeaten 101. With Andy Kay adding 41, York coasted to a seven-wicket win.

Bolton Percy remain second despite having the worst of a draw at lowly Dringhouses, who had the better of the exchanges.

Danny Snaith hit an unbeaten 90 and Chris Storey made 39 as Dringy moved to 227-6. Lewis Chipchase, with 3-25, then kept the York-based side ahead as Bolton replied with 187-9. Dan White top-scored with 48 with Tim Malloch adding 34.

Osbaldwick lifted themselves out of the relegation zone when they defeated Malton & Old Malton by seven wickets thanks to a fine all-round performance by Andy Hall.

He took 6-66 to peg the visitors to 166-9, then hit 53 when his side mounted their successful run chase.

Malton’s runs were provided by Steve Linsley (27), Des Wyrill, 36 on his first team debut, and Dan Foxton, unbeaten with 37.

Hall was well supported by Matt Hattee (64) and Rich Carew (31no) as Osbaldwick won in something of a canter.

Pocklington went level on points with their opponents Tadcaster Magnet when they won a low-scoring game by two wickets at Burnby Lane.

Paul Clark, with 32, was the only Magnet batsman to attract attention as initial honours were firmly claimed by Greg Nesbitt, whose 6-37 had Tadcaster all out for 126.

Clark then took 4-22, but his effort proved unsuccessful as Pock were eased to a two-wicket triumph by Jamie Kember (25) and Josh Room, who made a timely 26no.
