A century opening stand between Andy Bilton and Nick Hadfield, plus a rapid half-century by skipper Steve Burdett, set up a 116-run victory for Woodhouse Grange over Beverley Town to go top of the premier division.
Bilton (44) and Hadfield (66) put on exactly 100 for Grange’s first wicket then Chris Bilton (35) and Andy Anderson (27) kept the scoreboard ticking.
But it was a blistering 56no off a mere 41 deliveries by Burdett that put the issue beyond doubt and took Grange to 265-5. Matt Mudd took 3-62 for Beverley.
Jonathon Fisher (56) and Anthony Spence (48) played their part but Tom Quinn (3-25) andAndy Horner (3-14) bowled Beverley out for 149.
Stamford Bridge were toppled from top spot when they came off second best in a closely-fought draw with Easingwold at Catton Road.
Easingwold’s star performer was former Ebberston youngster Matt Turnbull who made 74. Jon Marwood chipped in with 27 but Dave Chaplin performed a hat-trick in his 4-47 as Easingwold were restricted to a seemingly modest 155-9.
Stamford’s chase was dulled by Steve Piercy who claimed 4-47. Matt Beckett made 28 and Will Rhodes 30, while Max Pimlott’s unbeaten 40 just failed to produce a home win when Stamford closed on 150-8.
James Bolam top-scored with 88 as Dunnington made 242-9 against visiting Goole Town. Other in-form batsmen were Dave Johnson, with 48, and Simon Dwyer on 37. Mark Spetch (4-43) and Dave England (3-79) reaped reward for the visitors.
However, their batting colleagues, apart from Anthony Gibbins (28) and Jake Mahoney (35), fared badly against Dave Johnson who took 5-60, and leading wicket-taker Adam Iyer whose 4-37, helped to dismiss the visitors for 141.
Dunnington skipper Paul Miles claimed four victims to maintain his status as the leading wicket-keeper with 16 victims.
Sessay vacated the relegation zone after winning at Fenner by 58 runs.
Matt Till’s 69 included six fours and three sixes as, along, with Mark Wilkie (39,) he helped Sessay to 87-0 in the first 25 overs.
Fenner came back thanks to Dylan Barkworth who took 4-37 and Jason Ellwig who claimed 3-27 after arriving back from the USA in the morning. Their efforts restricted Sessay to 164-9.
Sessay paceman Stuart Peirse (4-15) claimed the first four wickets in rapid succession to leave the hosts reeling at 31-4. Paul Scrowston countered on 37 but Steve Langstaff claimed 3-33 to dismiss the Hull side for 106.
Home batsman Charlie Scatchard made 70 when Studley Royal entertained York.
But his team-mates’ contributions were minimal as Mike Mortimer ran amok with 7-50 to leave the Royals all out for 149.
When York replied, Ryan McKendry sealed a seven-wicket win with an impressive 82 not out.
