IN-FORM Selby moved into third place in division one of the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League with a 15-run home win over Bridlington.

Casey Rudd (4-45) had Selby reeling, but skipper Gareth Roberts made 60 not out as he and Josh Jackson (19) shared a crucial ninth-wicket stand of 52.

Facing a home score of 160-9, Bridlington seemed to be well placed as Rudd made 54 and Steve Winterbottom compiled 44.

However, Steve Precious (3-43) and Mike Smailes (3-38) set the stage for Tom Collins to wrap up the innings off the second ball of the final over.

Two promotion contenders clashed at St George’s Road when third-placed Sheriff Hutton Bridge were entertained by second-placed Harrogate.

Bridge’s Paul Oldfield made 54 and Adam Fisher hit an unbeaten 61 as the visitors totalled 227-7.

Harrogate’s Ross Sedgeley played a match-winning innings of 108 not out to see his side to a six-wicket success with 11 balls to spare.

Acomb’s Andy Green (101) hit his second century in three games to set up an advantage draw over Driffield. Joey Burton gave sound support with 71 in a total of 257-7.

Harry Booth then claimed 3-84 and Driffield were 232-9 when stumps were drawn.

The bottom two sides clashed at Shipton Road, where Folkton & Flixton’s advantage draw moved them up to tenth place and left Clifton Alliance 20 points adrift.

Flixton were bolstered by a 91-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Oliver Stephenson (71) and Rob Lacey (55) as they reached 272-7. Francis Hawthorne took 4-86.

Andy Parkinson then hit 49 to help his side avoid defeat at 202-9.

Pickering won by three wickets at Thirsk.

Mark Cook made 50 and James Wilkinson 47 for Thirsk but Mark Shepherd’s 6-22 had them all out for 151. Stuart Christon responded with 4-62, but 33 by Arthur Devine put the Pikes on course.

Sewerby lead division two by 32 points after overwhelming bottom side Dringhouses at St Helen’s Road.

The visitors made 249-5 despite Sam Lingard’s 3-55. The hosts were then blown away for 133.

Richard Musgrave and Danny White orchestrated an advantage draw over Londesborough Park to keep Bolton Percy in second place.

Musgrave hit 72 and White 39 when Percy made 216-7. Park’s Charlie Rook then made 102, but Danny White’s 4-62 saw the reply fall short at 211-7.

Whitkirk closed on 174-8 in reply to Malton’s 175-8. In a team effort, Steve Linsley’s 27 was top score for Malton, whose Tom Summerville then took 4-37.

Tadcaster Magnet beat Osbaldwick after recovering from 33-5 to 177-8, with Greg Jarrett-Kerr hitting 55 not out. Osbaldwick were all out for 119.

York III are in third after beating Pocklington by five wickets.
