LUCKLESS Tim Jarvis was on the losing side despite scoring an unbeaten 118 as Stillington II (204-3) went down at home to Fenner II (205-7) in division four of the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.

Woodhouse Grange’s Jonathan Bean (117) was another century-maker not on the winning side as his Sutton-on-Derwent-based team had the better of a draw with Hull Zingari II.

Joseph Watson was 106 not out for Sessay II in their win at Huby.

In division five, York IV were shot out for only 49, as Stamford Bridge II’s Martin Veysey took 3-6.

Another big hundred came from Mark Trice, but he was also not on the winning side in division six.

He hit 149 for Hornsea II against Cawood at The Hollis Rec.

Hornsea (247-2) had the better of a draw as Cawood (221-6) came close.

James Rossington took a hat-trick as Bolton Percy bowled out visitors Hovingham for 96. But for a dropped catch by his father, John, it would have been four wickets.

Geoff Pears (30) top-scored for Hovingham while, for the home side, James Hodge weighed in with 32, and dropped catch culprit John Rossington was 35 not out as they replied with 97-1.

Stillington II batsman Chris Browne was yet another centurion not to be on a winning side as he was 152 not out against Cawood II at Maypole Gardens.

The home side reached 213-5 in reply to Stillington’s 256-2.
