LEADERS Duncombe Park continued their sequence of advantage draws against Drax in division three.
Park’s Brian Leckenby went into the match having scored 319 runs more than anyone else in the division and his 65 makes him the league’s top runscorer on 672.
He and Phil Marwood (78) shared an opening stand of 141 as a basis for a final total of 229-6. Dave Brinded had 4-44 for Drax.
Drax opener Lee Edwards carried his bat for an unbeaten 87 as they batted out for a draw at 157-6.
Scarborough stepped up their promotion drive with a nine-wicket home victory over Hovingham.
James Forwood made 62 and Steve Mosey hit 74 as the visitors were dismissed for 190. Mike Hurst (82) and Tom Bruce (69no) led the chase.
Sheriff Hutton dropped off the promotion pace when they lost by four wickets at Malton.
Geoff Schofield top-scored with 53 in Sheriff’s 159-9 as Oliver Gilbank claimed 3-31.
Malton’s reply was timed to perfection as they ran out winners with four balls to spare thanks to Shane Bonsor (43) and James Dawson (41).
Carlton Towers beat hosts New Earswick.
Darren Graves (37) and Neil Robinson (36) helped the visitors reach 147-8, with Martin Hewitson taking 4-39 and Ian Helmsley 3-47.
Earswick fell well short as Simon Boddy’s 4-26 had them all out for 93. Kevin Barker hit 34.
