Andy Main’s 47 was the only crumb of comfort for Rowntrees in their nine-wicket defeat by Sheriff Hutton at Mille Crux in division seven.
Despite his efforts, ’Trees were dismissed for 80 by Mick Bradley (4-26) and Tony Fisher (3-22). Vijay Jayagopal (32no) and Chris Megone (36no) saw Sheriff home.
Second-placed Bolton Percy had a 142-run home triumph at the expense of Stillington.
James Hodge (79), Ed Noble (48) and Ben Hepworth (41no) figured in a total of 221-4, and Andy Ferguson then took 3-8 as Stillington fell to 79 all out.
Nigel Ling hit 83 as Carlton Towers made 170-8 against Cawood, whose Elliott Clark took 3-29 and Dan Aichison 3-30. In reply, Nigel Bartram hit 51 but Jake Dawson’s 4-30 reduced the hosts to 125-8.
Civil Service kept in touch with the top two when they beat Hovingham by 50 runs. Nigel Ayre made 58 in Service’s 198-7. Travis Crouch then took 5-12.
