Dringhouses recorded their first win of the division six season when they beat New Earswick by 59 runs at St Helen’s Road.
Len Chipchase (60) and captain John Patrick (36) helped ’Houses to 134-2, but a dramataic collapse saw the hosts slide to 135-7 as Mark Willowe took 7-13. Adam Hewitson had 3-60 but a late recovery enabled Dringhouses to reach 180 all out.
Earswick’s reply included 40 from Dan Lockwood, but Sam Bibby (3-23) and veteran Ian Bews (4-41) had them all out for 121.
Dunnington had the better of a draw at Osbaldwick, whose last pair prevented the visitors gaining an outright win.
Josh Tattersall hit 57 and Simon Dwyer made 42 in Dunnington’s 160-8.
Johnny Rawsthorne had 3-31 for Osbaldwick, whose Adam Burton followed with 43 but Syd Porteous took 4-27 to restrict them to 139-7.
Londesborough Park’s Rob Sawyer took 5-40 when he returned to his old Pocklington stomping ground. His efforts kept Pock’s score to 155-9, despite 44 from Brad Bold. Park went on to post their 11th win as youngster J Hanley 55 and Sam Dodd 32 steered them to 158-5.
In division seven, Drax moved above hosts Stillington with an eight-wicket victory after dismissing the home side for 77.
Veteran Denis North top-scored with 36 for Stillington. Aidan Coulbeck included a hat-trick in his 4-12 as he helped Drax to victory.
Bolton Percy’s lead was cut by three points when Rowntrees earned a hard-fought draw. Ben Hepworth (55) and Mike Furze (69no) helped Bolton to 239-7. Pete Edmondson took 3-79 for Rowntrees, who held out at 139-8 with John Dowd top-scoring with 27. Percy’s Matt Howden took 3-18 and Ed Noble 3-19.
Chris Gartland had a good debut for Sheriff Hutton when he made 29 and claimed 4-32 as his new team had the better of a draw at Cawood.
Tadcaster Magnet’s tenth win at Civil Service maintained their strong promotion drive.
Carlton Towers’ last man was out off the final delivery as Hovingham gained an unexpected 101-run win.
