PROMOTION hopefuls Dunnington II were undone by the league’s leading wicket-taker as they lost by ten runs in division six off the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.
Welton & Brough’s Shaun Wilson took over as the top wicket-taker with 6-35 as Dunnington were all out for 169 chasing 179-5.
Dunnington seemed to be on course for victory when Andy Milne made 62 and Dan Andrew was unbeaten on 36.
Hornsea won by 103 runs against relegation-threatened New Earswick.
Hornsea closed on 199-5 and Earswick were all out for 96.
Leaders Londesborough Park beat Cawood by 19 runs.
Park made 244 thanks to Dan Howard (78), Ben Lewis (55) and Jonathon Croft (34). Lewis Longstaff had 4-38 for Cawood.
Richard Nicholson (76), Sam Cable (25) and Miles Taylor (47no) carried Cawood to 225. Richard Foster took 3-35 and Ben Lewis 3-62.
Pocklington gained a valuable advantage draw at home to fellow strugglers Dringhouses, whose last pair were at the crease when the game ended.
Chris Forsdyke hit 93 for Pock, while Fred Parry (36) and Adam Thomas (30) carried them to 229. Sam Bibby took 5-43.
Dringhouses’ John Patrick got 59 and Geoff Smith made 46, but Jim Saltmer (3-36) almost delivered a home win.
Osbaldwick beat Thorp Arch & Boston Spa by eight wickets.
Arch made 179-4 thanks to Jim Riley (66) and Joe Atkinson (56).
Osbaldwick triumphed via Steve Horner (71no) and Mark Ridsdale (41no).
