Premier division high-riders Clifton Alliance were knocked out of the Hunters York and District Senior League’s Premier Cup at home by mid-table Easingwold.
The visitors posted 192-8 off their 40 overs, Kyle Waite the main contributor with an unbeaten 93. C Ramsay chipped in with 35. Scott Hopkinson took 4-25.
In reply, Clifton were bowled out for 133. John Gilham managed 31 and S Hopkinson continued his good personal performance with 29, but good spells from Andrew Metcalfe (3-28) and Paul Skilbeck (3-28) saw Easingwold through to round two.
Another shock saw hosts Sheriff Hutton Bridge, third in the league, dumped out by third-bottom Sessay.
The visitors posted an impressive 256-8 with Matt Till (48), Nick Thorne (42), Jacob Spencer (55) and Chris Till (50) all contributing. Jamie Hopper (3-65) tried to halt them.
In reply, Bridge finished with 122-8 of which Mark Fisher made 54 and Adam Fisher 38. Matt Till capped a tremendous personal performance with 5-13.
A close game at Dunnington saw Beverley Town leave with a fine eight-run victory after posting 210-7. Dunnington made a valiant attempt to chase the score down but were all out.
Stamford Bridge are bottom of the top tier but their batsmen were in good form against the team at the bottom of division one, Bridlington, as they posted 233-4.
Matt Beckett hit an excellent 87 with Dave Chaplin (28), Dave Bradshaw (29) and Steve Sargeant (50no) all showing form.
In reply, Brid managed 134 with John Major (50) being the only batsman to show resistance, but it was Chaplin’s day as he took 5-24.
The game between York and Acomb saw the hosts post 205-5 with Simon Lambert (43), Pratt (42) and Andy Jarvis (57) in fine form. Acomb could only manage 160.
Selby got the better of local rivals Goole Town. Goole were restricted to 118, with John Nurden (3-5) the main tormentor. There were scares in the reply but Selby crossed the line at 119-4 with main contributions coming from Mike Smales (29) and Lee Wild (25).
Premier division leaders Studley Royal transferred their league form to the cup when they beat Heworth by eight wickets.
Heworth were held to 117-8, with Wazim Akram getting 31 and Lewis Day taking 4-22. Studley then raced to 118-2 with Matt Coad (71) shining.
Woodhouse Grange dominated against division one side Fenner. Woodhouse made 194-8 with Matt Hattee (40) and Mike Burdett (68) the main instigators. Fenner managed 110.
