Division three leaders Duncombe Park clocked up their sixth outright victory when they made the short trip to Hovingham in the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.

Tom Collard hit 51 for the hosts but had little batting support as Peter Kent took 4-39 to close down the innings on 114.

Steve Mosey hit back with 3-30, but the Helmsley side were never under serious pressure as Brian Leckenby (41) and Phil Marwood (40) sealed a six-wicket win.

Bottom placed Malton & Old Malton II recorded their first win of the season after making a victorious trip to Sheriff Hutton.

In a home total of 142-9, Eddie Hull made 27 and Chris Megone 45.

Successful with the ball for Malton were Oliver Gilbank, with 4-38, and Stuart Whatmore, who backed him with 3-33.

Malton’s Tom Audsley then made the game’s only half-century in scoring 52.

He was well supported by Danny Harper, with 41, before Tom Hodgson steered his side to a six-wicket triumph with an unbeaten 31.

Woodhouse Grange II maintained their promotion drive when they beat fourth-placed Pocklington by three wickets.

Pocklington skipper Matt Atkinson had a splendid game as he made 67 and then took five catches behind the stumps and he was unfortunate to be on the losing side.

Sadly, he had minimal support in the batting department as Scott Shepherd’s 4-26 saw Pocklington all out for 144.

Shepherd’s brother Matt then replied with 45 as he and Rob Daniel (28) saw Grange to 145-7.

Welton & Brough successfully defended a modest total when, after falling for 108, they dismissed Carlton Towers for 82.

Steve Scammells (32) led the Welton batting as Mark Spetch claimed 4-14. In reply, Jamie Pocklington made 34, but Neil Thompson’s 3-8 earn a 26-run win.
