SESSAY cruised into the last 16 of the Yorkshire Tea National Village Cup after a ten-wicket win over holders Woodhouses.
The Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League premier division outfit were impressive winners at home to the Manchester-based side in the first national round.
Fellow Senior League side Woodhouse Grange made a fruitless 500-mile round trip to Scotland to take on Freuchie.
The Grange squad left York at 5.30am but arrived at the ground to find a soaking wet wicket, which the umpires declared was too dangerous.
The game will be replayed at Grange’s Sutton-on-Derwent base on Sunday, July 8, starting 1pm.
