TEA UPDATE: Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth has completed his second century in as many LV= County Championship games as the Tykes continue to dominate their clash with Hampshire at the Rose Bowl.
The left-handed opener made 122 in the sunshine, before being caught by Sean Ervine at long-on off James Tomlinson, to leave Andrew Gale’s side on a commanding 200-1 at tea on the first day.
Before he departed the 22-year-old struck nineteen boundaries to fall just nine runs short of a career-best, which he set exactly seven days ago at Somerset.
His wicket also ended a 195-run partnership between Lyth and his fellow opener Joe Sayers, as the Hampshire attack struggled amid temperatures in excess of 30 degrees celsius.
Sayers is still there at the interval on 49 though, with Anthony McGrath unbeaten on five.
The fact Yorkshire have already surpassed 200 runs also means that they have picked up a first batting bonus point.
