TEA UPDATE: Yorkshire’s match with Hampshire will end in a draw, but there is still no declaration from the Tykes at the Rose Bowl.
At tea they have moved on to 262-5, to increase their second-innings lead to 326.
It means both teams will shake hands at 5pm to finish with nine points apiece from this contest, but at least there was some entertainment for the sparse crowd who have watched the final day.
With no chance of a result, following this morning’s rain, it was all eyes on Adam Lyth once more to see if he could make it back-to-back centuries for the first time in his career.
Unfortunately the 22-year-old fell just short, out on 98 to a brilliant slip catch by Neil McKenzie off David Balcombe.
At that stage the Tykes were on 232-4 and they have also lost Jacques Rudolph, for 28, and captain Andrew Gale, for 12, in the afternoon session.
It is all rather academic though but a declaration is likely at some stage, as Yorkshire need to bowl to address a negative over rate which they picked up during Hampshire’s first-innings.
When that decision comes is the only thing of note which will happen between now and end of the game.
At the crease are Adil Rashid, who is on nought, and Jonathan Bairstow who is unbeaten on 17.
