OLIVER HAIRS smashed 208 not out off only 92 balls as York Cricket Club began their defence of the Kingfisher Cup with a massive 318-run victory over Beverley Town at Clifton Park.
Hairs hit 15 fours and 14 sixes in his amazing knock as York scored 409-3 off their 45 overs yesterday.
Duncan Snell made 57 and Jack Leaning 67, while Liam McKendry hit 51, before Beverley were blown away for 91 in 28.3 overs.
Snell (137) and Leaning (112) put on a stand of 257 in York’s 166-run victory over Castleford in the Solly Sports Yorkshire ECB County Premier League on Saturday.
The partnership was the sixth highest for the first wicket in league history and propelled the hosts to 333-3 declared.
Cas were bowled out for 167, with Tom Pringle taking 5-32.
