THERE will be an early examination of York Cricket Club's title credentials tomorrow.
Their first away game of the Yorkshire County ECB Premier League season is at Shaw Lane, home of champions Barnsley.
Marcus Wood's side finished runners-up to the South Yorkshire outfit last season and all the early signs are that both sides will be among the front-runners again this summer.
While York started their campaign by easing to a seven-wicket victory over Harrogate at Clifton Park, Barnsley crushed Sheffield Collegiate by ten wickets.
York also travel to Appleby-Frodingham on Bank Holiday Monday.
