Yorkshire will be returning to Barbados next month for a 12-day pre-season tour.
The White Rose squad will be joining county rivals Hampshire, Warwickshire, Essex and Derbyshire in the Caribbean, where they also prepared for the 2010 campaign.
Director of cricket Martyn Moxon’s troops will be playing two matches among themselves between March 13 and 25, while they will also face Warwickshire in a 40-over match and they will take part in a Twenty20 tournament with the other four counties and a Barbados team.
Yorkshire will be without the likes of Ajmal Shahzad, Tim Bresnan, Andrew Gale, Adam Lyth, Adil Rashid and Jonny Bairstow, all of whom are on England duty. But new signing Ryan Sidebottom and first year professionals Moin Ashraf and Gurman Randhawa will travel.
Ashraf, the 19-year-old fast bowler, and left-arm spinner Randhawa have both been given £1,000 grants by the Yorkshire Players’ Association to help fund their share of the cost.
Ashraf said: “It’s going to be an amazing 12 days for us, and will help our preparations for the new season. We saw what the tour did for the lads last year. Hopefully we will be ready and raring to go when we get back home.”
