A HIGH-SCORING game at Clifton Park featured three centuries in division five of the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League, writes Albert Pattison.

Hosts York successfully chased down Rowntrees’ 280-3 to win by nine wickets.

Paul Horner hit a fine 128 for the visitors, with Graham Pearce adding 47 before Stef Cockerill made an unbeaten 70.

Nick Elliott was dismissed on 97 but Matt Hodsdon then joined forces with Anthony Carter to knock off the runs without further casualties.

In adding an unbroken 186 for the second wicket, Hodsdon made 109 not out and Carter 105 not out.

Tom Shaw took 4-72 and made 32 as Huntington won by three wickets at Selby, despite half-centuries from home batsmen Mike Smailes (56) and Gary Moore (64no).

An unbeaten 40 from former Wilberfoss man Des Healey saw Stamford Bridge recover from 68-5 to make 153-8 and that proved too much for Sheriff Hutton Bridge, who were all out for 132.

In division six, Thorp Arch & Boston Spa drew with Cawood.

Giles Toogood made 61 not out and Chris Browne 42 as Arch totalled 193. Keith Towndrow replied with 50 but Cawood closed on 186-5.

Osbaldwick narrowly failed to make the grade at Dunnington, despite 51 by Martin Baguley.

Steve Dodsworth’s 43 was the best contribution to Dunnington’s 187-8, while an unbeaten 30 by Chris Hammerton helped the visitors to 173-7.

Tom Hewer top scored with 42 as New Earswick posted a total of 213-6 against Dringhouses. John Routledge routed the visitors with 5-17 as they folded to 121 all out.

Sheriff Hutton romped to an eight-wicket win over Cawood in division seven. Rob Tetley took 4-4 as Cawood were all out for 61.

Hovingham hit 265-6 at Carlton Towers, who replied with 168-4.

James Fox hit 87 for Hov and Alistair Thorpe made 69 not out.
