BIG-HITTING York Cricket Club blitzed Hull to win the Yorkshire section of the ECB National Club Twenty20.
The Clifton Parkers trounced Hull by 149 runs in the final at Scarborough’s North Marine Road ground, having beaten Harrogate by five wickets in the last four.
Alex Collins hit ten fours and a six in his 51-ball unbeaten 78, while Duncan Snell smashed a whirlwind 34-ball 75, with four fours and six sixes in York’s 253-4. Oliver Hairs thumped 42 off 17 balls, with five fours and a six.
Hull were then restricted to 104-8, with Jake Murphy taking 3-26 and Liam McKendry 2-6. The eight overs bowled by Andy Tute and Ryan McKendry cost only 32 runs.
Harrogate totalled 159-9 in the semi-final, with Murphy taking 3-34 and Snell claiming 2-29.
York then eased home with seven balls to spare, with skipper Marcus Wood striking an unbeaten 38.
York will now take on the North Yorkshire South Durham League and North East Premier League winners in the area final on August 14.
