BBC TV football commentator Guy Mowbray enjoyed his own match of the day as Bishopthorpe maintained their HPH York Vale Cricket League division one title challenge.
He grabbed a hat-trick as the Bishops routed Wheldrake for 47 to win by ten wickets.
The early damage was done by 18-year-old Tom Eckhart (4-18) and Ian Holmes, who hit the stumps twice.
Mowbray then came on to bring the innings to a dramatic end by whipping out the last three batters, the last, Dave Fearn, falling to a spectacular one-handed catch by Holmes.
Stockton & Hopgrove’s bowling attack likewise proved too hot for Ben Johnson as Josh Barrett (5-16) and Matt Bradshaw (4-2) saw the printers all out for 48. Earlier, Barrett (46) and Giles Smith (54) put on 112 in Stockton’s 201-6.

York RI skipper Gary Walker (4-7 from 9.1 overs) led his division three table-toppers by example in victory at Welton & Brough.
Despite 72 from Dan Littlewood, Acomb lost at Thixendale by 27 runs, and Stuart Hardy (6-39) was North Duffield’s star turn in a comprehensive home win against Stillingfleet.

Fifteen-year-old Rory Watson followed his outstanding 90 for Bishopthorpe II with a miserly 1-11 from seven overs as Huntington were seen off by fellow junior Andrew Seager (5-43).
