THE top-of-the-table clash in York Minster Engineering Football League division four went in favour of leaders York Acorn.
Acorn opened up a 12-point lead with their 3-0 win over rivals Tadcaster Town.
Leigh Dutton hit a brace for Acorn to add to Wilson Briggs’ goal to extend their side’s unbeaten run to 13 matches and inflict Tadcaster’s first reverse of the season.
LNER Builders came from a goal down at home to Melbourne to take all three points. Sam Hill, the division’s leading goalscorer, cancelled out Matthew Underwood’s opener for Melbourne before Dean Machin and Craig Dinsdale secured a 3-1 win.
Callum Rowe-Dixon hit both goals for Selby Town Reserves in a 2-1 win at Huntington.
Moor Lane’s James Shaw hit the first and last goals of the game but his side lost 7-2 at home to Wheldrake.
The visitors won with goals from Ben Feathers (2), George Ledley, Ben Pachesa, Jason McCloud, John Scott and Oliver Butterfield.
