YORK RI twice came from behind to beat Huntington Rovers 6-2 and book their place in the semi-finals of the York FA Saturday Senior Cup.
RI, drawn away to York St John University in the last four, trailed to an early Dave Hartas goal, but Ryan Davison equalised from 20 yards.
Rovers regained the lead through Lee Bunce, but Lee Powell levelled from close range and then laid on a RI’s third for Dave McNichol.
Powell’s second made it 4-2 at half-time and they added two breakaway goals in the second half, with Nick Hutchinson heading home a Powell cross before adding a solo effort.
Dunnington will face holders Old Malton St Mary’s in the semi-finals after a 3-0 win at Church Fenton White Horse.
Dunnington took a two-goal lead into the half-time break against an under-strength Church Fenton side.
A deflected goal from Tom Matthews gave them the lead and Scott Sullivan then fired in a 20-yard free-kick. The win was secured when Alex Lowe pounced on a loose ball on the edge of the box.
