A HAT-TRICK by Hounds forward Chris Jackson ended Enterprise’s three-match unbeaten run in division one of the Ian’s Cars of Barlby York Sunday Morning Football League.
Jackson’s treble earned Hounds a 3-1 win and moved them to within two points of their fifth-placed opponents, with a game in hand.
The frontman converted a penalty to give Hounds a 1-0 half-time lead and he then doubled his tally with another penalty in the second half.
Enterprise pulled one back when Matty Brown hit the target, but Jackson made sure of the points.
Severus raced into a 2-0 lead at Wigginton Grasshoppers with goals from Jon James and Craig McShane.
However, a goalkeeping error just before half-time allowed Lee McQuade to reduce the deficit.
Grasshoppers’ Mike Byram struck from 25 yards to level after the break and the hosts won 4-2 with goals from Neil Walker and Byram.
A last-minute goal from Wayne Brook earned Station a 2-1 win at Dunnington.
Liam Summers gave the home side a half-time lead, but Station levelled through Steve Lyon.
Derwent United moved eight points clear at the top of division two after seeing off visitors York Medics 3-1.
On target for the table-toppers were Paul Holder, Simon Cooke and Dean Nuttall, while Greg Chambers netted for the Medics.
Leeman United’s promotion hopes took a knock when they were thumped 9-2 by visitors Bubwith Nomads.
Nomads led 5-1 at the break with goals from Guy May (3), Daniel Best and Michael Hemingway.
In the second half, Hemingway scored his second before Shane Marshal, Craig Hodgson and Sheridan Fletcher netted.
The hosts’ marksmen were Danny Coulson and Neil Hartley.
Paul Harris scored all five goals – including a late winner from the penalty spot – as Marcia Gray won 5-4 at Hambleton.
The home side’s replies came from Kane Snelson, Ian Huddlestone and substitute Daniel Smith (2).
Struggling Haxby beat Beeswing 4-3 with braces from Paul Scaife and Paul Jacobs. Andy Watkinson, Myron Turbine and Josh Weathers hit the target for ’Wing.
Hemingbrough remain bottom after losing 3-1 at home to York Nomads, for whom Liam Wingfield (2) and Chris Bilton scored.

Albion Vaults moved three points clear at the top of division three after a 3-1 win at York RI.
Dave Hallum gave Vaults the lead at the break with a penalty and, just after the restart, Darren Rollinson hit the target.
RI made it 2-1 when Gary Rylance scored, but Craig Hewitt got a third.
Bubwith White Swan dented York Five Lions’ promotion hopes with a 5-2 home win.
Jamie Sedman (2), Tom Robinson, Will Nicholson, Christian Wood and Steve Butterfield supplied the Swan strikes, with Lions replying through Leigh Dutton and Will Moore.
Bishopthorpe United were 5-1 winners against Selby Olympia, thanks to goals from Ben Smith, Jack Hulse, Andy Manns and Joe Barritt, plus an own goal.
Olympia’s Lee Ward scored from the penalty spot.
Brayton trounced hosts Marcia Bishopthorpe 6-1, with Dale Holt’s hat-trick backed by goals from Rob Guest (2) and Patrick Guest. Marcia’s scorer was Martin Charlton.
In division four, Tadcaster Magnet’s 100 per cent record ended with a 3-1 defeat by leaders Britannia Tadcaster. Tom Lendhill was the Magnets marksman.
NUR came from behind to win 3-2 at New Earswick. Calum Longhorne (2) put Earswick 2-0 up, but NUR won it thanks to Danny Cotton (2) and Lee Cocker.
Drax beat Eggborough Rangers 4-2, while St John were 5-4 winners at F3 thanks to Chris Walker (2), Daniel Moses, Thomas Ryan and Alec Scott.
Kevin Weston grabbed a hat-trick in Selby Railway’s 7-2 win at York Phoenix.
Barlby beat Parkers 2-1 to book their place in the semi-finals of the East Riding County Cup. Lee Carter and Louis Blackwell scored.
