CHRIS PORTER netted the crucial spot-kick as Tadcaster Magnets beat Osbaldwick in the final of the York FA Saturday Junior Cup.
The sides were locked at 1-1 after extra time, but Magnets held their nerve to win the shoot-out 7-6.
Tadcaster had the first chance of the final but George Philipson hit his one-on-one chance at the ’keeper.
Osbaldwick took the lead on 35 minutes when a long kick from ’keeper Tom Guildford found Tom Wheatland and he headed the ball home from the edge of the box.
Two minutes later, Osbaldwick’s Mike Whiteley had a goal ruled out for offside.
Tadcaster equalised on 55 minutes when a loose ball was placed into the bottom corner of the net by Andy Kitchen. After a goalless extra 30 minutes, Porter’s strike settled the sudden death shoot-out.
The trophy was presented by York FA vice-president Dave Morrill.
