A PATIENT performance from Tadcaster Albion paid off as the Northern Counties East League premier division leaders won 1-0 at Long Eaton United.

Carl Stewart struck his 30th goal of the campaign in the 88th minute as the Brewers capitalised on a slip up from title rivals Barton Town Old Boys.

Second-placed Old Boys were held 0-0 at home by lowly Parkgate and they now trail Albion by four points with two games in hand.

Brighouse are also in the mix as their 2-0 win at Maltby Main kept them ten points behind Paul Marshall's Tadcaster with six games in hand.

Fifth-placed Pickering Town bounced back from two defeats in four days with a 3-1 victory at Liversedge.

In division one, Selby Town drew 3-3 in a see-saw encounter with Pontefract Collieries at Flaxley Road.

Tom Angus gave the visitors a ninth-minute lead, but Luke Hall levelled for the Robins two minutes later.

Danny Gray's penalty put the hosts in front on 24 minutes, only for former Town man Brenton Leister to equalise in the 25th minute.

Gray fired his second goal two minutes after the break, but former York City junior Kingsley Wetherald ensured the points were shared with a 55th-minute goal.

Knaresborough Town won 3-1 at fourth-placed Clipstone despite falling behind to a Matt Austin goal on 21 minutes.

Colin Heath levelled on 52 minutes and Dominic Wilson edged them in front on 67 minutes before Heath's second sealed the points on 75 minutes.

Harrogate Town are fifth in Conference North after a goalless draw at Bradford Park Avenue.

Harrogate Railway lost 2-1 at home to Bamber Bridge in Evo-Stik League division one north.

Alexander Metcalfe scored for the Station View hosts in the 37th minute, in between Bamber strikes from Alexander Taylor and Greg Johnstone.

In division one south, nine-man Scarborough Athletic were thumped 4-0 at Chasetown, who were helped by a Steven Ridley own goal on 23 minutes.

Andy Milne and Ridley were later sent off and two Simon Brown penalties, on 76 and 81 minutes, stretched Chasetown's lead before Lee Butler's last-minute goal.
