F1 RACING got the better of Cliffe in their top of the table clash in division two of the York Minster Engineering Football League.
F1 led 2-0 at the break thanks to Danny Penrose and Jon Giordano.
George Trifan then extended the lead with an excellent free-kick before Penrose scored a great solo effort to give the home side a four-goal advantage.
Cliffe’s only breakthrough came in stoppage time in the shape of a Lee Carter consolation.
Division three leaders Ouseburn United defeated Bishop Wilton 4-0 to maintain their four-point edge over Sporting Knavesmire.
Chris Simpson (2), Josh Forester and Olly Rose found the net.
It is likely that Ouseburn will have to watch from the sidelines after next week’s final match at Rufforth, to see whether Knavesmire can bridge the gap by winning their games in hand.
Sporting maintained their form with a 6-1 victory over Rufforth. Andrew Simpson (2), Alistair Brown (2), Jake Duckworth and Mike Eddom were on target for the title hopefuls, with Lee Bartlett replying for the visitors.
Declan Richardson and Daniel Craig gave Civil Service a 2-0 half-time lead over Stamford Bridge, but the away side responded after the interval to cruise into a 3-2 lead.
However, Joe Mason’s last minute strike made it 3-3.
Crayke gained a welcome three points after a 3-1 victory against Tadcaster Town.
Matthew Nicholls put Town ahead early on, but Olly Barton levelled before half-time. Jamie Smith gave Crayke the lead after the interval before Barton’s second sealed the away side’s triumph.
Huntington put up a spirited performance against Kirkbymoorside, but it was the division four leaders ran out 5-3 winners.
Tim Godfrey scored twice for Jorvik Blades but his efforts were in vain as Melbourne gained a 5-2 victory thanks to a hat-trick from Louis Marshall and solo strikes from Matt Beevers and Alex Frear.
Matthew Cooper scored the only goal of the game as Selby Town Reserves beat local rivals Cawood.
