Top-flight Hounds pounded into the Grand Central Challenge Trophy semi-finals at the expense of division two side Rose & Crown, who lost 5-1.
Alan Jackson opened the scoring for Hounds after 20 minutes but unperturbed, Rose responded immediately with striker Daniel Lowther on target after latching on to a through ball.
Just before half-time dreams of an upset were over as Jackson bagged his second before, in the second half, Hounds seized complete command with goals from Roughley (2) and Forrest.
Selby Olympia WMC saw off Derwent United 3-0 with strikes from Ryan Chadwick (2) and Steve Lyons, while Severus SC thumped Shipton 8-3 led by a Hutchinson hat-trick, a brace for Woodward and solo goals from Moss, Atkinson and an own goal. Blake (2) and Smith replied.
In the Where In York Trophy, division three leaders Wanderers led division four outfit Cawood 4-1. But Cawood dug in to level to quarter-final into extra time. By the end of the added period it was 6-6 to ensure a penalty shoot-out in which Wanderers held their nerve to win 4-2 on penalties.
In normal play, Wanderers' Kevin Butler hit a four-goal blitz and Terry Taylor (2) with Knowles (2), Cronian, Atton, Sykes and Walsh replying for unlucky Cawood.
Albion Vaults edged out Enterprise after coming from behind to win 2-1 thanks to Chris Gatecliffe and Richard Wilks booking Vaults a place in the last four.
Goals from Zealand and Pitts steered Bay Horse Tadcaster into the last four at the expense of Acomb Rangers, whose Sean Stockdale netted.
On the league front, York F1 Racing Premier Karting Sunday League division two leaders Wigginton Grasshoppers reaffirmed title aspirations as they dismissed Hemingbrough 3-2.
Wigginton dominated with Ben Coates hitting a brace but Boro's Jackson and Zacharenko made it 2-2 until, with three minutes left, Grasshoppers' substitute Pete Carney notched the winner.
Strikes from Scott Dickinson (2), Ian Hufton and Dave McManus saw Acomb Celtic home as 4-1 winners over Cueball Fulford, for who Smart got the consolation.
Bottom club Shoulder posted a vital win over Pocklington thanks to strikes from Shaun Charlton and Martin Usher.
Wilberfoss and F1 Racing battled out a 2-2 draw in division three with the 'Foss hitmen being Heads and Shepard, Taylor and Cox replying.
New Earswick's upturn in division four form continued to beat CPP 2-1 with both goals from Rae before CPP's Gavin Harford scored with the last kick of the game.
Division five runaway leaders Acorn suffered their first defeat of the season as they lost 2-1 to Poppleton Road WMC. Chris Murcutt and Carl Stewart were on target for Poppleton, Dutton replying for Acorn, who missed two penalties.
Askham Bar trailed 2-0 to Forest at half-time, but cranked up the tempo to win 5-3.
Askham marksmen were Andrew Page, James Pallister, Paul Cook, Mark Littlewood, and Ben Overton. Neil Gaines (2) and Dan Rogers shared the Forest tally.
Dan Dews scored his 24th goal of the season for Edinburgh Arms, whose Will Wood and Joe Vaughan also hit the target in a 3-0 win over Pocklington Rangers.
