TADCASTER Albion's revival in the Northern Counties East League division one continued with a 2-1 victory over Pontefract Collieries at a muddy Ings Lane on Saturday.
Both sides struggled on the gluepot pitch but Jimmy Reid's side took a sixth minute lead through Phil Briscoe.
Pontefract levelled on 35 minutes with a Michael Rousseau goal but Taddy snatched the points when Stefan Zoll was tripped in the area and he got up to slam home the winner from the spotkick.
However, Albion had a scare in injury time when the ball came back off their bar straight to a Pontefract player who missed an open goal equaliser.
The victory moved Tadcaster up to eighth place in the division and will be looking for another three points next week when they travel to rock bottom Rossington Main.
Selby Town, whose fixtures are starting to pile up, lost another to the weather when their premier division game was postponed.
Harrogate Railway's UniBond League division one game at Station View against Ossett Albion was also called off because of a waterlogged pitch.
