SINNINGTON are the new leaders of the RJF Homes Beckett Football League division one after a 7-1 win at Slingsby.
But the big upset came at basement club Gillamoor, who put five past second-placed Union Rovers, who have now dropped to third.
An under-strength Rovers took the lead through Richard Abbey, but Lee Nesfield quickly equalised. Peter Tiffeny put Rovers in front again, only for Gillamoor to strike back through Paul Brackley. A bullet header from Nick Hodgson and a Gary Stamper goal put Gillamoor in command at half-time and Mark Robinson added the fifth in the second half as Gillamoor celebrated only their second league win of the season.
Sinnington cruised into a 6-1 first-half lead with goals from Sam Turnbull (2), Lee Mitchell, Stuart Watkinson, Gary Mitchell and an own goal. Jonathan Brown netted the seventh.
Terrington Glory won 1-0 at Aislaby United in the second round of the Gordon Harrison Memorial Trophy, James Dawson scoring the winner ten minutes from time.
Crayke moved to within four points of leaders Terrington in division two after a 4-0 win at Union Rovers 2nds. Paul Holmes scored (2) and Tom Kay, scored before half-time and Ben Cadd got the fourth.
Old Malton 4ths beat Pro-Pak 2-1 in an even encounter which was switched to Settrington. Simon Dobson struck twice for Malt with Phil Wilford replying.
Ampleforth thrashed St Clement's 6-1, and there was also woe for St Clement's 3rds, who were beaten 5-1 at Duncombe Park. Christian Ardisonne's 40-yard volley put Park in front, and after Lee Nicholas equalised for a 1-1 half-time scoreline, Park took control in the second period and netted through Ardisonne, Andrew Souter, Mark Wood and Lee Otterburn.
Andrew Parkinson scored four as Bagby and Balk beat Norton United Reserves 7-2. Matthew Kendall (2) and Graham Barker also netted, with Adam Kendrew and Sam Keyworth replying.
