MILLIONS of BBC television viewers got their first glimpse of Chelsea's former Pocklington schoolboy Michael Woods during yesterday's 3-0 FA Cup victory over Nottingham Forest.
Ex-Woldgate School pupil Woods, 16, became the fourth-youngest player in the Premiership champions' history when he replaced Ashley Cole during Chelsea's 6-1 third round victory over League Two side Macclesfield Town earlier this month.
Yesterday, he came on as a substitute for another England international - Frank Lampard - with 12 minutes left to play.
Midfielder Woods was signed by Chelsea from Leeds last summer in a deal believed to be worth £1million.
