Selby Town returned to action in the Northern Counties East League premier division and went down to a 3-2 defeat at Thackley.

The home side took the lead after 15 minutes when Dean Walters headed in but the Robins were level just two minutes later when Christian Fox fired home from the edge of the penalty area.

Selby took the lead on 39 minutes when a Steve Lyon cross was knocked in by Tom Adams and the visitors continued their domination at the start of the second half when Gary Jones and Steve Davey both went close.

The Bradford-based side fought back and equalised on the break through Nick Matthews on 67 minutes and they snatched the points when Walters curled in a 25 yard free-kick with three minutes left.

Revitalised division one side Tadcaster Albion chalked up their fifth win on the bounce with a 3-0 victory at bottom-of-the-table Rossington Main.

It took Jimmy Reid's side until the second half to turn their dominance into goals with a Guiseppe Downing double and a Stefan Zoll penalty. It took Zoll's tally to five goals in three games in his brief stint with Albion before going abroad to work.

The spot-kick came when Adam Rush was brought down by Rossington goalkeeper Ricky Scaife. The home side lost their discipline after the third goal went in with Mick McDowell receiving a red card and several cautions dished out to team-mates.
