THE premier division title race took a twist in the York Minster Engineering Football League as the top two were held to draws.
As leaders Old Malton St Mary's and second-placed Dunnington stalled, fifth-placed Wigginton Grasshoppers lost, making it a good day for rivals Tadcaster Magnets, on county cup duty, and Riccall United, whose match was postponed.
Andrew Bilton was the hero for a determined Osbaldwick side as he scored a last-minute equaliser in a 3-3 draw at Old Malton.
Striker Danny Fogg put Old Malton ahead on 35 minutes and, although Sam Thompson levelled, Fogg's second gave the hosts a half-time lead.
Matt Hattee equalised again from the penalty spot but Fogg's hat-trick goal seven minutes from time appeared to have settle it.
Osbaldwick had a player red-carded before Bilton grabbed the dramatic late goal.
Harrison Signs were down to ten men early on in their clash with Dunnington and then fell behind.
However, Cameron Sanderson scored from the penalty spot to send them in all-square at the interval.
After the break, Mark Benton put Signs into the lead before the Common Road side levelled again.
Sanderson restored the visitors’ advantage midway through the second period, but a late Dunnington goal resulted in the points being shared.
Callum Richardson, Scott Sullivan and Josh Hutchinson bagged the Dunnington goals.
Wigginton went to Huntington as favourites following a 7-1 victory earlier in the season, but the home side emerged 3-2 winners.
Some good work on the left by Rovers' Chris Dyson forced Dale Holding to turn the ball into his own net, but then Harry McMillan slipped Luke Hall in to balance the scores.
Just before half-time, a fortunate rebound from a defensive clearance let in James Edmond to slot home and give the home team the advantage.
Dyson made it 3-1 when he took advantage of a one-on-one chance before Jamie Willstrop’s volley was turned in by substitute Josh Luckhurst.
Copmanthorpe climbed to seventh after goals from Jake Moyse and Chris Storey gave them a 2-0 victory over Terrington Glory.
Leigh Dutton (2), Liam Keenaghan, Lee Jacob and Josh Coulson combined to give York RI a 5-1 triumph over Easingwold, for whom Andrew Metcalfe found the net.
Division one leaders F1 Racing were 3-0 up on York St John University at half-time with goals from George Trifan, Neil Yeowart and Chris Dempsey.
F1 scored four more in the last 20 minutes with Trifan completing his hat-trick, Adam Love scoring a stunning free-kick and Jericho Keys wrapping up the scoring with a neat finish.
A fiery game at Hamilton Panthers saw four dismissals and ten goals as Cliffe emerged 7-3 winners.
Luke Durham (3), Andy Edwards, Tom Hogg, Alex Hartley and an own goal contributed to the away side’s haul, while Panthers’ marksmen were Matt Carlton, Leon Moynihan and Karl Thompson.
St Clement's beat Tockwith 3-1.
