TOP scorer Nathan Cartman salvaged a point for Harrogate Railway Athletic and halted them being upstaged by a former York City front-man.
Railway entertained Spennymoor in a Boxing Day Evo-Stik League first division north duel.
The first blood of Boxing Day was drawn by the visitors’ Liam Henderson, a former Minsterman, who endured a dismal time at Bootham Crescent.
However, the Railway’s ground proved less of a barrier as Henderson struck after just 12 minutes.
While stung by that blow, The Rail’s attempts at getting any sort of reward looked hopeless as the north-easterners’ defence stayed intact. But two minutes from time the reliable Cartman poached a precious leveller.
First division north rivals Scarborough Athletic had nought to show for their trip to promotion adversaries Darlington 1883.
The hosts won 3-0 with an Andrew Mitchell strike sandwiched by Graeme Armstrong goals in the seventh and 85th minutes.
Back in Harrogate, and Town were held 0-0 by Conference North foes Guiseley, despite being boosted by the Christmas Eve signing of former Barnsley forward Paul Clayton from Alfreton Town.
