Severus SC are still clinging to top spot in York F1 Racing Premier Karting Football League division one despite dropping points in their last two games.
They had a 2-2 midweek draw with Selby Olympia WMC, then a 1-1 stalemate against Marcia, Mark Woodward getting the goal.
They stayed top, as champions Hounds suffered a major hiccup in trying to close the gap, with two consecutive defeats.
They lost 2-1 in midweek to Marcia, who have found good end-of-season form, and then lost 3-1 away to title rivals Derwent United. Collins, Holder and Cooke were on target for Derwent.
Hounds did find their shooting boots when they beat Ainsty Panthers 4-2 with strikes from Carmody, Harkin, Barney and an own goal. Will Barron and an own goal netted for Panthers.
Hounds could still go top if they win their game in hand over Severus but, below them, Derwent, with two more games in credit, are looking dangerous.
In addition to their fine win over Hounds, they enjoyed a double over Thorpe United. Derwent won 3-1 in midweek thanks to strikes from Collins, Holder (penalty) and Cass, and won 5-1 three days later with Hudson (2), Collins, Lander, and Holder causing the damage.
In mid-table, Nestle Flag beat Acomb WMC 3-1 courtesy of Ashley Hill, Lee Jackson and Chris Johnson.
