HUNTINTON Rovers and Dringhouses are continuing to slug it out at the top of the Leeper Hare York and District Football League premier division.

The title remains in the balance after both contenders recorded midweek victories.

Twice Iain Dunn (pictured left) gave leaders Huntington the lead at Nestlé but each time the hosts drew level within two minutes. But Rowntrees could not find a third equaliser to former York City man Dunn's hat-trick goal from the penalty spot.

Dringhouses kept in contention with their third 1-0 home win on the trot as they beat Dunnington when Mark Woodward headed on a cross from the right for Craig McShane to score.

Dringhouses are at Dunnington today while Huntington are at Old Malton who drew 0-0 with Copmanthorpe in midweek.

T & L Selby need a win to avoid relegation after going down 5-4 in their game with Thorpe Utd.

Hamilton Panthers made it seven wins on the trot to maintain their division one promotion challenge with a 5-0 thrashing of Easingwold which included a James Hewittson hat-trick.

Struggling Ouseburn recorded back-to-back wins for the first time since last April by defeating fellow strugglers Rufforth 4-0, Richard Dwight getting two of the goals.

Osbaldwick became division two champions as they thrashed Huby 7-1. Tadcaster's title hopes vanished as they lost 3-1 at home to Hemingbrough - their first defeat in 18 games. Luke Zacharenko got a couple of the Hemingbrough goals.

In division three, hosts Strensall beat Stillington 2-0 with goals from John Cooper and Shaun Lyons and need seven points from their remaining four fixtures to deny Stillington promotion.

York St John's jumped into second place in Reserve A' after winning 5-0 at Kartiers and will finish their season with three home games including matches with both their title rivals - Dunnington and Dringhouses.

Old Malton moved out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 home win over New Earswick, Mikey Brown and Ben Saltner scoring the goals.

An Ian Walbridge hat-trick set up a 4-0 home for Reserve B' leaders Heworth over Amotherby. Heworth need to win both remaining games to guarantee their second successive league championship.

Goals from Olly Newby and John Hardcastle gave Wilberfoss a 2-0 win over Poppleton.

Heslington beat Norwich Union 3-0 and their 12-game unbeaten run has carried them into second spot in Reserve C'. They need five points from their remaining three away games, which include a visit to champions York RI and a trip to promotion rivals Riccall.
