Severus SC are the new division one champions of the York F1 Racing Premier Karting Sunday Football League after a decisive midweek 4-0 win at title rivals Derwent United.

Earlier Derwent had lost 2-1 to Nestlé Flag and with the Severus defeat, their hopes of stealing the silverware from under Severus' noses ended.

Mark Woodward struck twice along with goals from Baines and Hutchinson.

Derwent bounced back with a 2-1 defeat of Ainsty Panthers who themselves had won midweek with a fine 3-1 win over Nestlé Flag.

The division two title remains unresolved but Skelton and Shipton are pushing hard on the heels of leaders Wigginton Grasshoppers.

Shipton toppled Shoulder Of Mutton 2-0 and then beat rivals Skelton 5-2 to maintain their title drive.

Skelton then ousted Rose & Crown 2-0 with a fine solo goal from Neale Holmes. He also had a penalty saved only for team-mate Mick Heels to convert the rebound.

In division three, Wanderers were crowned champions for third successive time as they followed a 5-0 thumping of Wilberfoss by thrashing Inland Revenue 9-0 with goals from Dave Newton (2), Dale Phillips (2) , Bill Allan, Kevin Butler, Matt Hartas, Daniel Coulson, and Dave Close.

Selby Griffin's promotion charge was helped by a concise 3-0 win over rivals Albion Vaults with Blundell, Crowther and Wileman on target, followed by a 4-4 draw with Wilberfoss.

Severus' hopes of a double, however, evaporated when they crashed 5-2 to Selby Olympia WMC in the Grand Central Challenge Cup semi-finals.

Steve Rollinson netted a hat-trick and Steve Jeff grabbed a brace for Selby with Lake and McShane replying for the new champions.

In the other semi-final, Hounds booked their place in the final with an 8-1 crushing of Acomb WMC.
