SELBY Town must win their home game with lowly Thackley in the Northern Counties East League premier division, and then hope that Garforth and Carlton fight out a draw.

The fifth-placed Robins can still snatch the third promotion spot and take their place in the Unibond League if the result between the third and fourth-placed clubs at Garforth is favourable and they win their last two home games against Thackley and Glapwell on Wednesday night.

Selby are in shock after the death of the death of club vice-president and long-time committee member, Steven Gardiner, who was found dead at his home this week.

Robins' secretary Tom Arkley said: "Steven has been associated with the club for most of his life and will be sorely missed.

"He was often the first person you would see as you entered the ground selling raffle tickets and was affectionately known as Ginner."

Pickering travel to 15th-placed Glasshoughton Welfare while, in division one, Jimmy Reid's Tadcaster Albion will be hoping to end their season on a winning note having failed to take maximum points in their last five matches.

The Brewers entertain lowly Gedling, who have lost seven during an eight-game winless run.

Paul James could return after a nose operation but Matty Cressey is still sidelined with a fractured cheekbone.

Harrogate Railway could still secure a top-ten place during their first season in the UniBond League's first division.

To stand a chance they must beat Woodley Sports, who lie eighth, in their final game of the season.
