NESTLé Flag's Christopher Johnson scored the winner to settle a five-goal York FA Sunday Morning Senior Cup final against Derwent United.
Johnson struck as extra-time was looming after outstripping the Derwent defence and cracking the ball past stranded keeper Lee Rushworth.
Flag had earlier taken the lead when Kevin Martin headed in a 40-yard crossfield pass by Peter Laidlaw.
Jamie Hopwood then went close at the other end but Ashley Hill missed a great one-on-one chance to extend the lead.
Flag did double their advantage, though, seven minutes before the break courtesy of a superb Lee Jackson lob only for Simon Collins to reduce the deficit with his head on the stroke of half-time.
Rushworth kept his side in the game with a great save after the restart and Collins then equalised as the Flag defence played statues.
Johnson, however, had the final word and the Yorkshire Evening Press 1907 Cup was presented by Roy Ellwood, the York FA's president.
l Woodthorpe Wanderers Under-12s lifted the York FA's Acaster Steel Cup after a 2-0 victory over Ryedale. A full report on that final with picture will appear in next week's Park Life.
