HUNTINGTON Rovers will be looking to double up tonight.
They will be hoping to add the League Cup to the Leeper Hare York and District Football League premier division title already in the trophy cabinet.
Rovers face runners-up Dringhouses at Tadcaster Albion FC (7pm kick-off) but were rocked by a 5-0 defeat in their last outing.
The champions crashed 5-0 at Kartiers where Andrew Woodhall carved open the Huntington defence after just five minutes to set up the opening goal for Michael Braithwaite before Wayne Brook weighed in with a hat-trick. Ben Olsen completed the rout.
Tate & Lyle (Selby) beat Copmanthorpe for the second time in a week, this time 4-3. Brendan Langhan scored twice for T&L to add to goals from Richard Gladwin and Pete Nixon, while Copmanthorpe's reply came from Rich Whitfield (2) and Stephen Grifoyle.
Wigginton chalked up their fourth win on the bounce with a 2-1 home win over Old Malton thanks to Tom Coates and Jimmy Vine. Substitute Gary Milner replied.
Heslington remain in the relegation zone after going down 4-3 to Dunnington despite leading 2-0 at the break. Chris Burgess (2) led Dunnington's revival with other goals from Ian Burgess and Mathew Knowles. Heslington's marksmen were Stuart Dickenson and Danny Walters (2).
Wilberfoss and Hamilton Panthers are still battling it out to go up with division one champions Haxby.
Panthers trailed to a Jason Roughley goal but came from behind to thrash Riccall 7-1 with goals from Jimmy Clamp, Liam Stilgoe (2), Mark Willoughby and substitute Adam Love, who scored a hat-trick in the final half-hour.
Wilberfoss, with first-half goals from Adam Lofthouse and Jono Parkin, beat Easingwold 2-0. Wilberfoss meet Panthers tonight knowing a point will be enough to take them into the premier division.
Haxby completed their fixtures with a 4-0 win at Amotherby - their 21st game without a defeat - with two goals each for Kev Butler and Paul Bedingham.
Andy Jones, the Selby RSSC striker leaving the club after five years, parted on a high note. His four goals in his side's 8-0 win over Civil Service took his tally during his stay with RSSC to exactly 100.
Rawcliffe and Strensall drew 2-2 in division three. A win would have almost guaranteed Strensall promotion but in the end they were grateful for a point as Shaun Lyons levelled in the third minute of injury-time. Kev O'Leary hit both Rawcliffe goals.
Wheldrake recorded their first official' home win in over four years as Jamie Painter hit the only goal of the game as Wheldrake beat Heworth 1-0. However, because Wheldrake's ground is unfit, the home' game was played at Heworth.
