VICTORY at last - but gloom all round for Harrogate Town, who were edged out of the Nationwide North play-off frame.
Town ended a sequence of damaging home draws to beat Worcester City 1-0 in the season's climax at Wetherby Road. But it was not enough to seal an extension to the season as Farsley Celtic prevailed 4-1 at Redditch to cement the final play-off spot.
Neil Aspin and his men will look to their patchy home form in the final weeks as the reason why their play-off push evaporated and against their Worcester visitors they struggled to force a way through.
The closest Town came to breaking the deadlock was a brace of chances for Danny Holland just before half-time only for both to be off target.
The goal Town desperately sought finally came ten minutes from time when Holland turned in a cross from Dave Merris, but the result from the Midlands reduced it to a statistic.
