MARKSMAN supreme Mark Woodward shattered Huntington Rovers' dreams of a Leeper Hare York and District Football League title and cup double.
The newly-crowned champions were in control when they led Dringhouses 2-1 at half-time in their League Cup final at Tadcaster.
Then Rovers' stand-in goalkeeper Richard Spence fumbled a corner and in the scramble the ball went in off a Huntington defender.
Although Dringhouses levelled, they had a man dismissed shortly after and the odds tipped in Rovers' favour.
However, the red card seemed to galvanise Dringhouses who took the match into extra-time where Woodward smashed in a glorious long-range winner.
Leading scorer Woodward had given Dringhouses an early lead, but the champions levelled with a 25-yard strike from Lee Jackson and then went 2-1 up when the Dringhouses goalkeeper fumbled the ball and Jack Wilson back-heeled it to Chris Johnson to tap in.
Dringhouses' 3-2 extra time victory was compensation for finishing runners-up to Huntington in the league.
Rovers, who won the league title for the first time last week, have been beaten in the last three League Cup finals. They were defeated by Kartiers last season and the year before also lost to Dringhouses.
The champions end their campaign against Malton and Old Malton tonight.
Hamilton Panthers have set up a nail-biting finale to the division one promotion race.
Their late 1-0 win over fellow promotion contenders Wilberfoss means they need to beat Amotherby & Swinton on Saturday to clinch the runners-up spot on goal difference behind champions Haxby. James Hewittson scored the vital goal at Wilberfoss four minutes from time.
Stamford Bridge also left it late at Norwich Union, Nick Rank scoring the only goal of the game with virtually the last kick. While securing Bridge's status, the win sent Elvington, who lost 4-1 at Amotherby, and Rufforth who lost 2-0 to Poppleton, down to division two.
In Reserve B', Bishopthorpe blew a league and cup double when they drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge, confirming promotion for both Heworth and Wigginton. Christian Young hit the brace of Bridge goals.
Riccall gained promotion from Reserve C' after their 2-1 home win over Ouseburn with goals from John Barnitt and skipper Shaun Bugg before a late Ouseburn penalty.
