Leeper Hare York Football League division three leaders Heworth were held to a draw for the second time in three games as they had to settle for a point against New Earswick.
Matty Coupe and Tom Quinn gave Heworth a two-goal lead but this was wiped out by Scott Stewart and Oliver Ellwood before New Earswick then missed a late penalty.
George Trefian scored twice for Civil Service in the opening ten minutes in at home to promotion-chasing Rawcliffe but Rangers were level by the break. The home side went in front again through Andy Simpson but the visitors eventually won 6-3.
Ricky Hunter, with his second hat-trick in successive matches, led the reply with Rangers' other goals from Anthony Evans (2) and Stuart Whalen.
Two of the sides fighting relegation from Reserve A' both did a favour for leaders York St John's.
Rufforth, with no win in six, inflicted the first home defeat in 12 games on second-placed Dunnington.
They led through a Simon Castle goal, but a long-range effort from Mike Elsworth levelled for Rufforth, whose Rob Sanderson hit the winner.
Nestlé were within four minutes of ending a run of 20 games without a win as they entertained Huntington but Andy Bullivant smashed in a late equaliser. Alex Sutherland had scored earlier for Nestlé.
York RI went fourth in Reserve B' after beating Malton & Norton 5-2 with goals from Steve Cross (2), Lee Goddard, Dave Clarke and John Ryder.
Phil Wardman, Zack Tobin and Jayson Jiradier all hit second half goals as Reserve C' leaders Tockwith beat Fulford 3-0.
