A FIVE-GOAL second-half salvo saw Nestlé Flag stay in touch with leaders Severus in division one of the York F1 Racing Premier Karting Sunday Football League.

Flag were 1-0 down to hosts Derwent United at half-time but hit back through Chris Johnson, Nick Fenton, Kenny Davis with a penalty and a brace from Chris Dyson.

Flag rose to second above Hounds, who, like Severus, were not in action.

Thorpe took the points in the derby against Selby Olympia with a narrow 1-0 win.

Skelton's unbeaten record in division two was ended by title rivals Wanderers for whom Dale Phillips was the hero.

Phillips hit a hat-trick in the 5-2 win, with Terry Taylor and Dave Newton also on the scoreboard, Wanderers now being the only undefeated side in the division. Skelton replied through Neale Holmes and Ben Janes.

York Nomads and Hambleton drew 2-2, Nick Rank, Sam Browne netting for the former, as did Acomb Celtic and Selby Griffin, Celtic's goals coming from Ian Hufton and Adam Osguthorpe.

Bishopthorpe, Cueball and Haxby Lions all enjoyed away wins.

A brace for Andy Manns plus one each for Mark Featherstone, Matty Foote and Mark Smith gave Bishops a 5-3 win at Britannia Tadcaster, who replied through a Chris Duffield double and a John Sebin strike.

Matty Simpson, Andy and Nigel Lyle were on target for Cueball in their 3-0 win over Compmanthorpe, while the Lions came from 1-0 down at Pocklington, Stuart Lawson getting that goal, to win 4-1.

Albion Vaults increased their lead at the top of division three with a 6-2 win over White Horse.

Enterprise dropped from second to third as they went down 4-3 at Edward VII, for whom John Pipes, Steve Cartner-Graham, Gary Newbould and Tom Taylor got the goals.

A 3-3 draw with Heworth was enough to lift Wilberfoss up to second. Heworth's goals came from Paul Bentley (2) and Colin Murphy.

A Neil Yeowart double, plus a goal from Will Wood, saw F1 Racing move off the bottom as they surprised high-flying Inland Revenue 3-1. The Taxmen's goal came from Gary Humphrey.

A last-minute penalty save from goalkeeper Laurence Borrows denied New Earswick a share of the points as his Cawood team won 4-3.

The goal-scorers for Cawood were Jamie Weatherhill, Billy Atton, Marcus Ford and John Knowles with a penalty. Alex McKay and Dan Lindsey (2) replied.

A waterlogged home pitch saw Shoulder of Mutton switch their game against Station FC to the Selby side's ground but they returned home empty-handed as Craig Campbell scored in each half for a 2-0 Station win.

Acorn moved to joint first in division four alongside Gypsy Moth after beating CPP 3-2 with goals from Steve Cross, Leigh Dutton and Luke Richardson.

Gypsy Moth lost to third-placed Marcia Grey. Carl Stewart opened the scoring for Marcia in the first minute and, although Moth pulled level just before half-time, Marcia goalkeeper Simon Fletcher made a string of great saves and his side took the points with a goal from Chris Murcutt ten minutes from time.

Askham Bar switched grounds due to a waterlogged pitch and they too lost out, with Barlby FC winning 4-2 through Scott Jackson, James Hanson and Steve Davis (2). Luke Hutchinson and Alan Darby responded for the Bar.

Substitute John Richardson netted a hat-trick to add to a brace from Georg Wojick as Selby Olympia won 5-0 at Cue-Ball Reserves.

Yearsley Forest won 5-1 at bottom side Hambleton Reserves after goals by Neil Gaines, Mark Pragnell, Mark James (2) and an own goal. James McKay replied.
