DEFENDERS who can score goals are worth their weight in gold, and Harrogate Town's Mark Hume is proving priceless.
He continued his rich vein along the goal standard when he notched the only strike of the game for a 1-0 win at Workington Town to put the Wetherby Roaders into second spot in the Blue Square North.
Hume's decisive effort was a thunderous finish applied in the 24th minute after a shot from Darren Dunning was only parially cleared. It was Hume's 12th goal of the season and his fourth in the last three games.
Team-mates such as Roy Hunter, Dave Merris, Danny Holland and Tony Hackworth could all pick up some tips from Hume as they all squandered decent chances.
