Old Malton St Mary’s clinched the runners-up spot in the York Minster Engineering Football League premier division with a 3-1 win at Riccall.

Ryan Cooper took his tally for the season to 15 with a brace to add to a Dan Fogg goal. Daz Fawcett replied for Riccall.

Dunnington trailed 3-1 at York St John, but hit back to win 4-3 to extend their unbeaten away run to nine games.

James Richardson, Michael Cresswick and Alex Dixon were on target for the students, while the Dunnington goals came from Matty Wain, Chris Burgess, Alex Lowe and Guy Jackson.

Easingwold needed a point to confirm promotion from division one and they sealed a top flight place in style with a 5-3 win over visitors Hemingbrough.

A brace each from Andrew Metcalfe junior and John Hunter, and one from Dave Adams, gave them a 5-0 interval lead, before ’Brough netted through Luke Zacharenko and Craig Haythorne (2).

The division two promotion battle will go down to the last game.

Selby RSSC came from a goal down at home to Terrington to win 5-2, but need maximum points from their last game to win promotion at the expense of Heworth.

Chris Coxen (2), Richard Sheldon and Rob Frair (2) scored for RSSC, while Glory’s goals came from Josh Ward and Ben Richardson.

Heworth won their final match 3-0 at home to Heslington with goals from Lee Bunce and Callum McKenzie.

Dave Stoner hit a hat-trick for Rawcliffe in their 6-2 home win over Fulford.

Division three champions Strensall completed the entire season without defeat as they beat Selby Olympia 7-0.

Mick Pipe pushed his tally for the season to 36 with a hat-trick and John Cooper took his total to 37 with a double. Jack Wilson and Liam Winfield also scored.

Mike Taylor scored a last-minute goal to give F1 Racing a 1-0 win over Wheldrake.

Dunnington escaped relegation from reserve ‘A’ as goals from Nick Robinson (2) and Liam Summers gave them a 3-0 win at Old Malton.

Amotherby & Swinton celebrated promotion from reserve ‘C’ with a 6-0 win over Civil Service. The scorers were Tom Bottomley (2), Bobby Leach, Matty Webster, Mikey Brown and Matty Bean.
