SELBY Town will aim to bounce back against Askern Villa on Thursday after a 3-0 defeat by Birds Eye Athletic in a pre-season friendly at Flaxley Road.
Manager Mick Gray fielded a side featuring a mix of squad players and his first-choice line-up against Birds Eye, but the result was “a bit of a disaster” according to club officials.
The Robins drew 1-1 with Grimsby Borough in their previous outing, with an 82nd-minute penalty from Joe Connor cancelled out in the last minute by Lee Stephenson.
After hosting Askern Villa, Goole visit Flaxley Road on Saturday and Brigg Town next Tuesday.
