Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver hopes to have one new trialist for the visit of North Ferriby United to the CNG Stadium tomorrow.

The Evo-Stik premier division outfit meet a Town side looking to bounce back from Tuesday night’s 2-1 friendly defeat to Gateshead.

Martin Foster put Harrogate into a first-half lead before Gateshead equalised and then scored a late winner.

Along with the returning players from last season and his eight new recruits, Weaver still has plenty of players aiming for a contract at the club and he will give them another chance to impress tomorrow.

“It will be a similar line-up to Tuesday. You’ve got to give the trialists a few more minutes,” he said.

“There may also be one new trialist forward tomorrow.”

The match against Ferriby is the third of eight pre-season games for Town.

Admission is £7 for adults, £5 for concessions and £2 for under-15s.

Meanwhile, a trio of local Northern Counties East League premier division clubs continue their pre-season preparations tomorrow, writes Spencer Brown.

Selby Town play host to Goole Town (3pm) while newly promoted Tadcaster Albion play Bishop Auckland (3pm).

Pickering Town, meanwhile, travel to Stokesley on Saturday (3pm) before a clash with Middlesbrough on Wednesday, July 28 (7:30pm).

The Pikes enjoyed a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Huntington Rovers in a previous fixture, but have since lost to Northallerton 1-0.

Selby earned a 2-1 victory over Grimsby Town Youth and a 1-1 draw with Grimsby Borough but then lost 3-0 to Birds Eye United.

Albion were victorious over Leeds Carnegie by 3-0, followed by a 1-1 draw with Silsden.

All three teams will be looking to build fitness and momentum heading into the new campaign.
