Harrogate Town travel to Sheffield FC tonight (7.45pm) and boss Simon Weaver expects a battle.

Town are in good shape following Saturday’s 2-1 victory over North Ferriby United at Wetherby Road.

Graeme Armstrong and Martin Foster scored superb goals and, despite a Ferriby goal, Town held on for the win.

Weaver said: “I chose Sheffield because I thought it would be a physical game.

“They have about seven 6ft tall players so we will have to defend better at set-pieces again. It’ll be a good test.”

Ex-Gateshead left-back Paul Talbot, who played five games for York City in 2000, is on the verge of joining Town and Weaver is also looking to sign Saturday’s trialist forward Nathan Jarman.

“He’s sharp and he’s a powerful lad so he’ll be a good addition,” he added. “I’m interested, but we’ll have to talk and sit down and see if we can compete.”

Meanwhile, Selby Town take on Brigg Town in a pre-season friendly at Flaxley Road tonight (7.30pm).

Scarborough Athletic travel to Ossett Albion tonight (7.45pm).
