THE big freeze was finally broken in the York FA Sunday Morning Senior Cup round three when a Chris Jackson hat-trick underpinned a 6-1 win for Hounds over Wigginton Grasshoppers.
Hounds took the lead after 20 minutes with a spot-kick but Grasshoppers drew level ten minutes later through a long-range shot from Matthew Tiplady.
Alan Jackson restored Hounds’ advantage and, by half-time, his brother Chris added two further goals to give them a 4-1 advantage.
After the break, Hounds were in control and Chris Jackson completed his trio, while Daniel Rhodes lobbed the Grasshoppers’ goalkeeper to wrap up the scoring.
