A TERRIFIC strike by Craig Fletcher saw Losequest lift the Keith Walwyn Tournament Six-A-Side Trophy at Huntington School.
Fletcher’s effort and a Dave Flett goal helped Losequest clinch a 2-1 victory over 2009 winners A-Star, who had led at the interval.
Losequest had earlier finished fourth in their qualifying group but demolished previous champions Towton Minstermen, who had finished top of the other group, 5-1 in the quarter-finals.
A 1-0 victory over Acomb Celtic Greens then set up a meeting with A-Star, who also lost last year’s final and had earlier topped their qualifying group.
The Youth Team Dads, meanwhile, defeated Clive Owen to claim the York Nomads Society Group and Seaside City were the Crabtree Cup winners with Wednesday Nights runners-up.
Flett, meanwhile, claimed the Jorvik Reds Golden Boot award with seven goals in the annual competition that is run and organised by York City supporters.
The day raised more than £800, which will be split between the York City Youth Development Fund and the Cardiology Endowment Fund at Blackpool Hospital, where late City legend Walwyn was treated.
Next year will see the tenth anniversary of the tournament with Saturday, June 23 the provisional date.
